Few times, and maybe the last one this Millennium you will come across a Band like this one, one of the last treasures to be discovered.

For some people the existence of this LP was a myth , for some others legend, believed to be lost forever, and only a miracle rescued it from extinction.

Tempano, a Venezuelan band, recorded Atabal Yemal in 1980, basically an instrumental work with few vocal parts, in this unique LP and clearly ahead of their time, they show us one of the most impressive works of progressive music to come out of Latin America, but not the typical sound from there !! , great compositions, by all standards, unparalleled quality.

There is no way to describe Tempano by comparing it to others, the creative force behind this band is unique, they have a very personal sound in which beautiful melodies, complex breaks and very professional performances make them so special and original.

Each instrument plays independently their own melody , blending in a unique way to create their distinctive sound , not the typical Bass/Drums base that follows a repetitive rhythmic to sustain the keyboards and guitars melody. The only guidelines to follow are the beauty of Camel melodies ,the prog./symph. sound of Happy the Man, the complexity of King Crimson and the creativity and uniqueness of Tantra.

This re-issue includes 3 bonus tracks that were recorded in April 1998, the band is now together again after 18 years... the bonuses are all instrumental and run for about 25 minutes, and will keep you wondering where were this guys for so long..the music continues where they left before, simply, 3 master pieces, listen to them carefully and please be patient , they will leave you with the desire of some more.. and that will come in 1999... If this album would have been released to a wider audience in its time today it would be a Reference Band.

If you call yourself a Connoisseur and collector of progressive and symphonic music no doubt, this is for you, be sure , this is one of those great Bands that do not come across frequently and as a bonus a superb booklet and artwork.

This is a MUST have CD, a triumph, very evocative and the more you listen to it the more they get to you....do not miss it ...it may become a collectors item twice !.
